Laws of SoftBall Cricket
One of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) most important roles, is its custodianship of the Laws of Cricket.
Although the International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global Governing Body for cricket, it still relies on MCC to write and interpret the Laws of Cricket, which are applicable from the village green to the Test arena.
SoftBall Cricket has adopted this same Code that the MCC has been recognised as the sole authority for drawing up and for all subsequent amendments. The Club also holds the World copyright.
The SoftBall Cricket version of the Code includes the original MCC's and the ICC's modification of the Laws that apply to this version of Cricket.
Code of Conduct for Players
The ICC is the international federation responsible for the global governance of the sport of cricket and the Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel (the ‘Code of Conduct’) is adopted and implemented as part of the ICC’s continuing efforts to maintain the public image, popularity and integrity of cricket by providing: (a) an effective means to deter any participant from conducting themselves improperly on and off the ‘field-of-play’ or in a manner that is contrary to the ‘spirit of cricket’; and (b) a robust disciplinary procedure pursuant to which all matters of improper conduct can be dealt with fairly, with certainty and in an expeditious manner.
