Scoring
Point Systems
These systems are used to calculate the Net Run Rate, decide in cases of Ties and for preventing those above from being implemented.
Universal Method of Scoring.
Partnerships
- Only runs awarded during a partnership count in that partnership total
- Runs scored as penalty extras before an innings commences (when 'play' has been called) or after the innings has been completed (when 'time' has been called)) do not count toward the partnership total
- Consultation with the umpires is vital if there is any doubt when penalty extras have been awarded
Provisional and Final Score for the innings
Because a side may accrue additional runs as penalties after their innings has been completed it is necessary to show the actual score at the end of that innings as the provisional score. The finalscore cannot be recorded until their opponents' innings has been completed. Note that the score can additionally be reconciled in the bowling analysis.
